Ranch Experience
Non-Hunter Activities
Beyond the hunting, guests can enjoy wildlife viewing, relaxing at the lodge, and experiencing the atmosphere of a private South Texas ranch.
A weekend at Lopez Ranch Properties can include much more than time in the field. Guests can experience the ranch through sunset watching, wildlife viewing, relaxing at the lodge, ranch photography, and cattle or ranch experiences depending on the schedule and season.
For corporate groups, private retreats, and mixed groups with non-hunters, these activities help create a full ranch weekend built around food, hospitality, scenery, conversation, and time outdoors.

The Ranch Experience
The ranch carries a rich family legacy rooted in South Texas history. Lauro Lopez Sr. (“Don Lauro”) was the first Lopez to run the land and played an important role in pioneering buffelgrass in the area. The family also began their cattle operation using Santa Gertrudis cattle from the King Ranch.
Beyond the hunting, guests can experience wildlife viewing, sunset watching, ranch photography, cattle and ranch experiences, and time relaxing at the lodge.
