A True South Texas Setting

The property offers a true South Texas ranch setting with native brush country, cactus and prickly pear, winding senderos, open grazing strips, ponds, tanks, and diverse wildlife habitat. The landscape creates an authentic ranch experience filled with wide open skies, peaceful evening sunsets, natural wildlife movement, and the feeling of being deep in private South Texas ranch country.

Guests can enjoy the quiet atmosphere and natural beauty that make the ranch feel both peaceful and secluded.

The Ranch Experience

The ranch carries a rich family legacy rooted in South Texas history. Lauro Lopez Sr. (“Don Lauro”) was the first Lopez to run the land and played an important role in pioneering buffelgrass in the area. The family also began their cattle operation using Santa Gertrudis cattle from the King Ranch.

Beyond the hunting, guests can experience wildlife viewing, sunset watching, ranch photography, cattle and ranch experiences, and time relaxing at the lodge.
