Lopez Ranch Properties offers limited guided wild quail hunts across several thousand acres of South Texas brush country, senderos, grazing strips, and open ranch habitat. Quail hunts are walking hunts with dogs, built for guests who appreciate the tradition, challenge, and pace of a true wild bird hunt.
Quail packages can include lodging, breakfast, lunch, dinner, ranch transportation, guides, dogs, and bird cleaning with vacuum sealing. Guides know the land, the cover, senderos, grazing strips, and hunt areas, and they help create a safe, organized wild quail hunting experience.
Quail hunts are best suited for private groups of at least 5 hunters. Hunts run through the Texas quail season, which generally opens in late October and closes at the end of February, and dates are limited.

The Ranch Experience
The ranch carries a rich family legacy rooted in South Texas history. Lauro Lopez Sr. (“Don Lauro”) was the first Lopez to run the land and played an important role in pioneering buffelgrass in the area. The family also began their cattle operation using Santa Gertrudis cattle from the King Ranch.
Beyond the hunting, guests can enjoy wildlife viewing, sunset watching, ranch photography, cattle and ranch experiences, and time unwinding at the comfortable lodge in south texas.
